TWO young City of Plymouth athletes impressed at the South West Schools’ Biathlon Championships at the weekend.

Shara Ingleby and Olivia Walkerdine both took part in the event, which was held at Millfield School in Somerset.

Ingleby made the podium in the Year 6 competition, taking second place in the swimming and running competition, which is hosted by Pentathlon GB.

Walkerdine came fifth in the older age group (Year 7) and both athletes have achieved the qualification standard to compete at next year’s National Schools’ Biathlon Championships.
