TAMAR Trotters’ Bex Ezra-Ham claimed a convincing victory in the Totnes 10k on Sunday.
Ezra-Ham secured the women’s title in the off-road race along the River Dart, which is actually nearer to 11k than 10k, by one minute and 21 seconds.
She won in 42.59 minutes, with Windsor & Slough junior Tara Ferguson second in 44.20 minutes and Torbay Tri Club’s Naomi Flanagan third in 45.33.
Storm Plymouth’s Lauren Knox was fourth, with South West Road Runners’ Amy Jones fifth.
The men’s race was won by Chichester’s M45 athlete James Baker, who came home in 39.22 minutes. He had previously won the event a number of times before, including four years in a row between 2007 and 2010.
Last year’s winner Ceri Rees, a M50 runner, was second, just eight seconds behind, with Erme Valley Harriers’ Ronnie Haynes taking third after his win at the Cornwood 10k the previous week.
Dorking’s Daniel Evans was fourth and Tamar Trotters’ Oliver Oldfield was fifth.
Plymstock Road Runners’ Graham Bale won the M60 top prize by edging out Pete Monaghan, while Erme Valley’s Ken Summers was second M70.
Erme Valley’s Liz Bristow was second F50, while team-mates Helen Chapell and Lynne Whitfield were first and second F55, respectively.
It was a good day for Erme Valley, who won both the men’s and women’s team prizes.
The race saw 550 finishers.
There was also a fun run beforehand, which was won by Felix Davies, with Archie Seager second, Roux Tucker third and City of Plymouth’s William Bush fourth. Georgina White was first girl in the fun run, followed by Aurelia Mathews and Lexie Tedstone.
