ERME Valley Harriers’ Ronnie Haynes was a dominant winner of the annual Cornwood 10k on Saturday night.
Home runner Haynes took victory in a bumper field in a time of 35 minutes and 54 seconds, with Plymstock Road Runners’ veteran Brett Jones second in 37.19 minutes.
Tamar Trotters’ Luke Attwood was third (38.05), with Erme Valley’s Charlie Milward fourth as the Ivybridge-based club took the men’s team prize.
After finishing as runner-up for the past two years, Les Croupiers’ Louise Flynn won the women’s race in 39.46, ahead of Tavistock AC’s Hannah Smith and Hannah Worth, who were second and third.
Erme Valley’s Helen Chapell won the women’s top veteran prize, with Felecity Knell second and Storm Plymouth’s Catherine Brown third.
Storm did win the women’s team title.
The multi-terrain race takes athletes around the villages of Cornwood and Lutton.
There was also a fun run, which was won by City of Plymouth’s Jack Penny, with Jacob Atkins second and eight-year-old Micah Fox third boy.
Bluebell McBride was first girl, with eight-year-old Elsie Penney second and Sophie Johns third.
