ST Austell Athletes RC’s Garth McColville was first home in June’s Armada Summer 5k Series run at Saltram House on Wednesday evening.
McColville took victory by more than 30 seconds, finishing the multi-terrain course around the National Trust estate in 17 minutes and 28 seconds.
Second home was South West Vets’ Alex Peyton-Jones, who clocked 18.00 minutes.
Erme Valley Harriers’ Pete Allen was third in 18.18 minutes, with City of Plymouth junior Lucas Sweeney fourth (19.03) and Tamar Trotters’ veteran Pete Waumsley fifth (19.05).
Plymouth Harriers’ Ruth Farr-Semmens was first woman home in 21.45 minutes, with Ami Peyton-Jones (SWV) second in 22.12 minutes.
Third woman was Zoe Chapman (23.07), with Alison Caldwell fourth (23.45) and Hook Norton’s Jessica Kenyan fifth (23.56).
Some 131 runners finished Wednesday evening’s run. The next one in the series will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at Saltram House.
