VIDEO & GALLERY: Landers claims a hat-trick of Plymouth Half Marathon titles, while Arnold also enjoys success

TAMAR Trotters’ Jacob Landers made light of torrential rain to claim a third successive Plymouth Half Marathon title.

Landers held off the challenge of Josh Hasson to win by 19 seconds.

He clocked a gun time of 1:09.43, which was slightly slower than last year, but conditions were completely different. Hasson finished in 1:10.02.

Third place went to Shane McNearney, who clocked 1:12.15.

City of Plymouth’s Annabel Arnold produced a dominant run to claim the women’s title.

She clocked a gun tie of 1:21.27, which was 51 seconds ahead of last year’s winner Louise Flynn of Les Croupiers, who had to settle for second place overall this time around and first F40.

Ellie Robinson was third woman home (1:15.42), just ahead of Tavistock AC’s Nikki Kelly, who was fourth.

Erme Valley Harriers’ Becky Prall (F45) and Alison Engledew (F65) both claimed female age group titles, as did Tavistock AC’s Maarit Green (F70).

Plymstock Road Runners’ Brett Jones was first M45, while his team-mate Graham Bale was first M60 and 19th overall in a time of 1:19.30.

City of Plymouth’s David Robinson won the M50 title, ahead of Plymouth Harriers’ Steve Hill, while Erme Valley’s Ronnie Haynes was second M40 and 10th overall.

An impressive 3,236 runners completed the event, which started and finished on Plymouth Hoe. (Video and picture gallery below).
