MATTHEW DIXON and Euan McCabe both scooped medals at the Aquatics GB Diving Winter Cup that was held in Sheffield this weekend.
Dixon, competing for Dive London Aquatics Club, claimed two silver medals in the men’s springboard events, finishing behind Sheffield’s Jordan Houlden in both the one-metre and three-metre competitions.
The three-metre event was first and former platform specialist Dixon scored 386.70 points in the final.
Plymouth Diving youngster Oliver Heath just missed out on reaching the final of that event, by finishing 10th in the prelims, with club colleague Archie Waines 17th.
The men’s one-metre final the following day was close, with Houlden scoring 406.90 points to win and Dixon 396.55 points. Olympic star Jack Laugher came fifth, while Heath was 13th.
Plymouth Diving’s McCabe won silver in the men’s 10m platform competition on Sunday afternoon.
McCabe enjoyed a good battle with London’s Ben Cutmore.
McCabe really put the pressure on with his two final dives both scoring 77-plus points to score a total of 415.75 points, but Cutmore took the title with 424.65 points after nailing his final dive and scoring 83.25 for it.
Meanwhile, Plymouth’s Aidan Heslop has been named European high diver of the year for 2024 after winning the world title and Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series crown, while fellow Plymothian Tom Daley was named male diver of the year.
