GALLERY: Dartmoor Velo and Plymouth Corinthians impress at Newnham Park cyclo-cross event

DARTMOOR Velo and host club Plymouth Corinthians had riders claiming victories as Plympton’s Newnham Park held round five of the South West Cyclo-Cross League on Sunday.

Corinthians’ Travis Bramley claimed victory in the final race of the day – the men’s senior and over-40 event. He triumphed by 35 seconds on the challenging course, with Tavistock Wheelers’ Lee Adams taking second.

Bramley’s team-mate Benjamin Causon was sixth overall and third M40, behind Jonathan Gregory and Charlie McFall.

The women’s race was dominated by Mid-Devon juniors Eva Fox and Lara Dix, who came first and second overall and first in their category.

Third female overall and first F40 was Jo Meek, with Plymouth Corinthians’ Tracey Corcoran just behind her as second F40.

The first senior woman was Clare Sharp, with Mid-Devon’s Catherine Kilburn winning the F50 category.

Chard’s Henry and William Birchall were first and second junior men.

Dartmoor Velo’s Freddie Day and Aoife Scawn claimed victories in the under-16 races.

Mid-Devon’s James Allen and Lauren Fox were the under-14 winners, with Dartmoor Velo’s Samuel Medland second boy.

Dartmoor’s Charlie Day and Bryony Medland were the under-12 victors, while club colleagues Indie Skinner and Harriet Day were first and second under-10 girls.

Wheel Velocity’s Henry Christie was first under-10 boy, while Bristol Cycling Daisy Adams was the under-eight winner, with Dartmoor’s Tahnee Skinner second girl.
