Saltash skateboarding teenager Lola Tambling loved every minute of her Olympic Games debut

SALTASH teenager Lola Tambling described her Olympic Games debut as ‘insane’.

The 16-year-old finished 15th in a highly-competitive women’s park skateboarding event in Paris with an impressive score of 73.85 points.

Her Great Britain team-mate Sky Brown, also 16, did manage to reach the final and win the bronze medal for a second Olympics running.

But Tambling was just over the moon with the way she performed in front of a packed stadium at La Concorde.

“I’m buzzing,” she said afterwards. “I have no words right now. That opportunity was insane and I just soaked it all in.

“It was absolutely amazing – the biggest achievement of my entire life – and I loved every minute of it.

“I can now officially say I’m an Olympian and it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me and I’m so, so happy.”

Tambling was keen to pay tribute to her family, friends and everyone in Saltash for supporting her.

“They all have my back and I appreciate them so much,” she said.
