GALLERY: Erme Valley Harriers’ Haynes claims victory in the Muddy Duck 10k at Plymstock

ERME Valley Harriers’ Ronnie Haynes claimed victory in the Muddy Duck 10k at Plymstock on Saturday evening.

Haynes, who had finished third last year, clocked 36 minutes and 33 seconds for the multi-terrain race that involves water crossings and some short-sharp hills in and around Plymstock’s Radford Park.

In previous years the race has taken place in hot sunny weather, but rain on Saturday made conditions tricky for runners, with a number losing their footing down some of the hills.

Second place went to Plymouth Musketeers’ Scott Mansfield, who clocked 37.36 minutes.

Plymouth Harriers’ James Cartlidge was third in 39.17 minutes, Scott Bonner was fourth in 41.03 and Tamar Trotters’ Pete Waumsley recovered from a fall to take fifth and first M50 in 41.43 minutes.

Stacey Parker was the first woman home in 47.59 minutes, despite falling, with Plymouth Harriers’ Sarah Robbins second in 48.18.

Third woman was Erme Valley’s Becky Lee, with Tavistock’s Sarah Holland fourth and first F45 and Plymouth Storm’s Catherine Brown fifth.

The race was organised by Plymstock Road Runners and started and finished at Oreston Academy School.
