PLYMOUTH Argyle and Marine Academy Plymouth will have to try again this weekend to play their Women’s FA Cup first round matches.
Argyle’s tie against Ilminster was called off at Torpoint after the visitors had already arrived after a third pitch inspection by the referee deemed the surface unplayable.
The game has been rearranged for this coming Sunday at Home Park and the winners of the tie will host AFC Stoneham in round two.
Marine Academy Plymouth’s match against Keynsham Town due to be played at Ivybridge was postponed the night before due to the heavy rain. That has also been rescheduled for this weekend, with the winners facing a trip to Bristol Rovers in the next round.
In the Devon Women’s Senior Cup, Elm United overcame a spirited Tavistock side 9-0 away.
Elm were 4-0 up at half-time and they took the game away from Tavistock in the opening 10 minutes of the second half where they scored three quick goals.
However, their hosts did have their chances, while goalkeeper Shauna Priest made some great saves to deny Elm more goals.
In the Devon League South & West Division, SB Oak Villa continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 10-2 away win at Plainmoor.
Rachel Finch bagged four of Oak Villa’s goals, with Libby Williams getting two. Also on the scoresheet were Emelia Heyes, Olivia Lennox, Akaysha Raymond and Vicky Jasper.
