PLYMOUTH Diving’s Seth Greentree and Alex Jones both won titles at the 2023 Swim England Diving National Skills Finals in Leeds.

Greentree triumphed in the boys’ D1 category, while Jones won the boys’ C2 competition.

There was also a medal for Louie McCue, who took silver in the boys’ B+ section.

A number of other Plymouth divers also claimed top seven finishes in the event for the country’s top up-and-coming young stars.

Kaiwen Dun was fifth in the same C2 boys’ event which Jones won.

There were also fifth-placed finishes for Leighton Mossford (E boys) and Rae Mossford (D2 girl), while Bella Stringer (D2 girls) and Abi Bishop (C2 girls) were both seventh in their respective categories.

Plymouth took 19 talented youngsters to the competition at the John Charles Centre for Sport.

The team also included Iva-May Davey, Phoebe-Mae Evans, Honor-Grace Kelly, Bethany Hockaday, Imogen-Rose Hockings, Emily Williams, Margot Elliott, Lottie Tucker, Isla Newton, Mai Tickle and Charlie Clinick.

The finals are held for divers who have achieved a qualification standard at a regional qualifying event.

More than 200 athletes from around the country qualified to take part.

Swim England regional diving manager Helen Dutton said: “It is fantastic to see so many divers having achieved the qualifying standard this year.

“This is a clear sign that standards are heading back in the right direction post covid.”
