GALLERY: Dix and White among the winners at South West Cyclo-Cross Champs

CYCLISTS were out in force at Plympton’s Newnham Park on Sunday for the South West Cyclo-Cross Championships.

Ewan Dix, Lara Dix and Orla White were among the riders to claim regional titles.

Ewan Dix claimed the junior men’s crown with a strong performance in the main race.

He finished third overall behind seniors Tristan Davies, who retained his title, and Nick Blight.

Fellow local rider Leo White was fourth overall and third senior, while Oliver Murphy was third junior.

Lara Dix won the under-16 girls’ title, while Orla White took victory in the under-14 girls’ event, where her Dartmoor Velo team-mate Aoife Scawn came second.

The women’s race was won by Heidi Gould, with Mid-Devon veteran Catherine Kilburn second and Anna Cipulla third. Plymouth Corinthians’ Charlotte Turner was sixth female overall and fourth senior.

Southfork’s Max Standen claimed in the U16 boys’ title, while Mid-Devon’s Matthew Holmes was the U14 boys’ winner.

Mid-Devon also claimed both U12 titles, with Lauren Fox first overall and James Allen first boy.

Charlie Day and Bryony Medland and Charlie Day claimed the U10 crowns, with Oscar Riches and Georgia Smith the U8 winners.
