City of Plymouth’s Cornwall champion Jed Hutchings dominated the under-15 boys’ race, winning by 39 seconds.
Tavistock’s Flynn Baker was second overall and became Devon county champion by holding off North Devon’s Chris Oliveira.
Tavistock Run Project’s Holly Cole (5th overall, 4th Devon), City of Plymouth Molly Gilbey (7th), Tavisock’s Lara Dix (8th overall, 5th Devon), City of Plymouth’s Abbie Chapman (9th) and Erme Valley’s Bella May (10th, 6th Devon) were all in the top 10 of that competitive race.
In the under-13 boys’ race, Cornwall champion Barnaby Hutchings came second behind Exeter’s Will Birchall.
Tavistock’s Zoe Bigham and City of Plymouth’s Elsie Goodspeed once again came first and second in the non-championship under-11 girls’ race, while Erme Valley’s Isabella Trowell and Tavistock athletes Anya McAulay and Claudia Jones were all in the top 10 of the under-13 girls’ event.
Tavistock’s Jo Meek won the Devon county women’s title. She was fourth senior woman overall and first over-40 as Tavistock won both the senior and masters’ women’s county team titles.
Club colleague Charlotte Walker came second in the county under-17 race and third overall.
The under-17 boys and girls ran with the senior woman and City of Plymouth’s Thomas Jones just missed out on a county medal by three seconds. He was fourth Devon athlete and fifth overall, with Erme Valley’s Matthew Gilvear seventh overall.
There was a strong men’s race with Olympic steeplechaser Phil Norman taking victory ahead of former English schools’ internationals Johnny Livingstone (Exeter) and Flynn Jennings (Bideford), who came first and second under-20s.
There was a good run by Plymouth Harriers’ Johnny Gilby who came eighth overall, first over-40 and won bronze in the senior men’s county race.
Tavistock’s Ben Neale was sixth in the Devon senior men’s race as his club won both the senior and masters’ county team prizes.
