SUBSTITUTE Marcus Pethrick scored a 90^th minute goal to secure Bere Alston a 1-0 home victory over a young Plymouth Argyle Football in the Community Development side in the Devon Football League on Tuesday evening.

The match at the Recreation Ground looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw with both goalkeepers in good form.

But with time running out, Pethrick rose to fire home and secure Bere Alston their third successive win in the Devon League South-West Division.

It will have been tough to take for the young Argyle side, who had battled hard all game. They did have one last chance in injury-time to try and rescue a point with a corner. They did throw everyone up, including the goalkeeper, but they could not make the set piece tell.
