Argyle Ladies are on the look out for new players and a club secretary

PLYMOUTH Argyle Ladies are on the look-out for new players and a new club secretary.

The National League Southern Premier Division team are keen to strengthen their two playing squads ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Pilgrims were looking like title-contenders are winning 11 games in a row last season, but they then lost nearly as many players through injury and they lost form. They were fourth when the season was ended early in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Those injuries they suffered last season showed the need for an even strong squad.

A number of Argyle young development players did step up to the first team and gained valuable experience. The young reserve team were on course for promotion from the South West League Western Division, but, for the second season in a row, they were denied through no fault of their own. The previous year they won the league but could not go up due to rules at the time.

The Pilgrims are looking for any players that could strengthen either their first team or development squad. Anyone interested should email at plymouthargyleladies@gmail.com.

Meanwhile, the club are still looking for a new secretary following the departure of Andrew Bellamy.

This is an important role and whoever take it on will be the principal point of contact between the football authorities and the two teams.

Anyone interested in the voluntary role should complete the application form (click here) before June 30 and send, along with a covering letter, to: Chris Smietanka, Staff House 2 Plymouth Marjon University, Derriford Road, Plymouth PL6 8BH or email csmietanka@marjon.ac.uk.
