PLYMOUTH modern pentathlete Kerenza Bryson was rewarded for an impressive season by being named rising star of the year at the Army Sports Awards at Sandhurst.
The University of Plymouth medical student beat distance runner Jessie Lutwyche and triathlete Katrina Rye for the award.
Bryson enjoyed a memorable 2019. She won an individual and relay silver medal at the World Junior Championship, claimed the gold medal with fellow Plymothian Myles Pillage in the mixed relay at the senior European Championships, picked up a women’s relay silver medal at the European Junior Championships and also won individual silver at the Czech Open.
