TOM DALEY is hoping to end the FINA World Diving Series on a high this weekend when the final leg is staged at the London Aquatics Centre.
The series is returning to London after a four-year absence and Daley is relishing competing in front of home crowd at the pool where he won an Olympic bronze medal in 2012.
He has enjoyed a good series and is heading the 10m platform standings going into the deciding round.
“The World Series for me this year has been a great one,” said the Plymothian. “After my break last year and the arrival my son Robbie, I’ve rediscovered my love of the sport again and I think that has shone through in my diving and results.
“This might be my best World Series yet and I’m hoping I can finish well in front of a vocal home crowd. I love this venue [London Aquatics Centre], I have loads great memories from it and I have the bonus of training here every day.”
The action begins in earnest at noon on Friday, with the women’s 10m synchro followed by the men’s 10m synchro featuring Daley and Matty Lee.
Daley will also compete in the individual and mixed three-metre synchro with Grace Reid on Sunday.
