Raiders bounce back in style at home to Surrey Scorchers

PLYMOUTH Raiders bounced back from their defeat at London City Royals on Saturday evening by beating Surrey Scorchers 108-89 at the Pavilions on Sunday.

The win keeps Raiders inside the top eight and on course for the end of season play-offs.

Paul James’ side showed no ill-effects of a road game less than 24 hours earlier by coming out firing in the first 10 minutes with 33 points to take control.

Their lead moved beyond 20 points in the third as the Raiders eased to a comfortable victory.

Rashad Hassan had another big game for the Raiders with a game-high 29 points, along with 13 boards, while Donte Nicholas came close to a triple-double once again with 16 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists in the win as the duo starred.

The Raiders shot at 61 per cent from inside the arc as the Scorchers struggled to stem the flow of points.
