PILGRIM Flyers cyclists Helen Barron, Rosie Andrews and Oli Allen all claimed top 10 finishes at round four of the UK National Cross Country Series at Phoenix Bike Park in Suffolk.
On a dry course at the Newmarket venue, Barron finished fifth in the junior female category in a time of 1:19.02. Just 22 seconds separated third from fifth in a race, which was comfortably won by Malvern’s Great Britain international Harriet Harnden.
Andrews finished ninth in a highly-competitive female youth category, where the top 10 riders all crossed the line within less than five minutes of each other.
Meanwhile, Allen was 10th in a strong male youth event where the top 16 competitors all finished with five minutes of one another.
Plymouth Corinthians’ Mark Byrne was 20th in the male expert race.
The series will conclude at the Royal Welsh Show Ground in Builth Wells on the weekend of August 4-5.
