DEVONPORT Services will start life in South West One with a Devon derby match away at Okehampton on September 1.

The newly-promoted city side will then host St Ives, who came up from Western Counties West with them, the following week.

On the third weekend of the 2018/19 season, Devonport will travel to Teignmouth.

Their first meeting with head coach Mike Lewis’ former club Launceston will come on November 17 when they travel to Polson Bridge.

In the South West Premier, Ivybridge will host old rivals Camborne on their new artificial pitch at Cross-in-Hand on the opening day of the season.

They will then travel to Cleve in their second match of the campaign on September 8.

Their first meeting with Devon newboys Exeter University will be on September 22 and that will then be followed by a home derby match with Exmouth.

Newly-promoted Saltash will begin Western Counties West will a tough trip to Sidmouth on September 1.

The Ashes’ opening home game will be against St Austell the following week. However, they have suffered a blow with news that top try scorer Will Morton has joined Launceston have 10 years with the Ashes.

Morton said: “I have had 10 awesome seasons at Saltash with great support so this move wasn’t an easy decision for me to make.

“But I think it’s the best way for me to try and better my game whilst I’m still just about young enough to do so.”

In the Cornwall/Devon League, Plymstock Albion Oaks have been handed a tough start with a home game against Penryn, who have just missed out on promotion for the last two seasons.

Oaks’ second match will be against Pirates Amateurs away before they host city rivals Argaum on the third weekend of the season.

Argaum will play the Pirates at home in their first match, while Tavistock host Bude.

Newly-promoted Liskeard-Looe will travel to fellow newboys South Molton on the opening weekend.

There has been a reorganisation in lower leagues and Devon Two has disappeared. The top three sides in Devon Two last season have joined those in Devon One, with the lower Devon Two sides joining a new hybrid Devon Merit League.

It means Tamar Saracens, Old Techs and OPMs will all be in the same division.

OPMs will start their league season on September 8 with a home game against North Tawton, who won Devon Two last year.

Old Techs will host New Cross on the first day, while Tamar Saracens will entertain Exeter Saracens.

OPMs will sit out the second week, with an odd number of teams in the division, but they will meet Old Techs in their third match on September 29 before playing Tamar Saracens the following week.

Tamar Saracens will host Old Techs on October 20.

The fixtures for the new Devon Merit Table, which will feature Plympton Victoria, DHSOB and St Columba & Torpoint have yet to be confirmed.

All the fixtures are currently provisional and clubs have until June 30 to ask for any mutually agreed changes.
