PLYMOUTH’S Sharn Hooper claimed an age group silver medal at the ITC Cross Triathlon World Championships in Canada.
Hooper took second in the women’s 30-34 age category at the event held in Penticton, British Columbia.
She was one of four athletes from Great Britain to win age group medals at the championships.
Hooper was consistent throughout the three disciplines to finish behind American Megan Riepma.
Riepma built up a big lead on the rest of the field in the swim and completed the event in two hours and 57.40 minutes.
Hooper clocked 3:07.30 thanks to a 30.52 minute swim, a 1:49.24 bike ride and a 43.35 minute run.
Third place went to fellow British athlete Ruth Owen-Evans, who finished in 3:09.52.
The next five places were filled by Canadian competitors.
