Plymouth College pentathlete Mitchell selected for World Under-19 Champs

PLYMOUTH College modern pentathlete Georgina Mitchell has capped an impressive season by earning Great Britain selection for this month’s World Under-19 Championships in Prague.

Mitchell is still an under-17 athlete but has done enough to warrant her place in the eight-strong GB team for the event, which starts on July 18 and runs through to July 24.

The 16-year-old has enjoyed an impressive few weeks, winning the British Under-19 Modern Pentathlon Championships before finishing as the top British athlete at the Under-17 European Championships in Bulgaria.

Mitchell was also part of GB’s bronze medal winning girls’ team at the Under-19 European Cup event in Barcelona earlier this summer.

She is joined in the British team by Lancashire’s Olivia Green and Emma Whitaker, Gloucestershire’s Zoe Davison, Hampshire’s George Budden, Somerset’s George Case, Kent’s James Wilton and Yorkshire’s Toby Price.
