ELBURTON VILLA brought their club’s annual summer tournament to a close with victory in the under-14 final.
The team played their victors in the Devon Cup final, South Dartmoor Community College, in the last game at the Haye Road tournament, which was sponsored by Hallwell Projects.
And Villa got revenge for their narrow county cup loss, with Will Ford scoring the winning goal in the final.
It continued the team’s success in the Elburton tournament, which started in 2012. The side were at under-nine level then but have returned as winners every summer.
The Elburton event was held over three days and attracted 104 teams from under-seven level to under-15s. Each age group had tournament, shield and plate winners.
Elburton also won the under-nine final, while their under-15 team where just beaten on penalties by MAP Kings.
