PLYMOUTH Diving’s Matthew Dixon and his GB diving partner Noah Williams won a bronze medal at the European Diving Championship in Kiev on Thursday.
The young duo took third in the men’s 10m platform synchro event in the Ukraine.
They scored 388.05 points to finish behind home winners Maksym Dolgov and Oleksandr Gorshkovozov, who collected 431.28 points, and Russia’s Nikita Shleikher and Aleksandr Belevtsev, who collected 406.56.
Dixon and Williams were in second spot after the opening four rounds and were pushing for gold, but they just could not match their rivals on the final two dives. The Ukrainians and Russians both had higher degree of difficulty dives.
Dixon and Williams, though, were consistent all the way through the contest.
European junior champion Dixon will compete in the individual event on Sunday.
