PICTURES: Old Techs go Mexican in Minehead to celebrate highly successful season

OLD TECHS have rekindled a well-known club tradition to celebrate a highly successful campaign – a proper end-of-season tour.

The Weston Mill-based club won promotion to Devon One and also reached the David Butt Trophy, Devon Junior Vase and Lockie Cup finals.

They won the Lockie Cup for the second year running with victory over DHSOB at the Rectory.

And they are celebrating in style this weekend with a three-day trip to Minehead.

Some 40 members of the club, including players, coaches, committee and supporters, headed to Somerset dressed as Mexican wrestlers.

“This is the biggest tour we’ve had for years and we’ve got all ages coming along,” said coach Shaun Bedford-Smith, who when he gets back will start the serious business of preparing for life in the higher division.
