City of Plymouth athletes prepare for major indoor events this weekend

David KingSOME of the region’s top athletes are competing at major indoor events this weekend.

On Saturday, City of Plymouth hurdler David King will line-up in the 60m hurdles at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix at Birmingham.

King, who last weekend booked his place at the European Indoor Championships, will be up against his Great Britain rivals Andy Pozzi and David Omoregie, plus American Aries Merritt, Ireland’s Ben Reynolds, Netherlands’ Koen Smel and Cyprus’ Milan Trajkovic.

Also this weekend, a number of Plymouth athletes, including King’s club colleague Jade Simson, will be in action at the BUCS Indoor Championships at Sheffield.

Simson, a student at Bath University, will be first up when she competes in the women’s 60m hurdles on Friday afternoon. The heats for that event are at 3.30pm, with the final at 6.35pm.
