PLYMOUTH University’s Jessica Jackson won two individual medals at the BUCS Short Course Swimming Championships in Sheffield.
The University of St Mark and St John were also among the medals at Ponds Forge. They claimed two relay bronze medals and an individual silver for student Ivo Staub.
Jackson’s medals were both bronze and came in the women’s 100m and 200m freestyle events. She also just missed out on another by finishing fourth in the 50m freestyle final.
The Plymouth Leander swimmer clocked 1:57.09 on her way to 200m bronze, 54.68 seconds in the 100m and 25.28 seconds in the 50m.
Staub took silver in the men’s 50m backstroke in a time of 24.91.
He also was part of Marjon’s 4x50m medley relay that won bronze behind Stirling and Loughborough. Jean-Luc Zephir, Tom Maurer and Tom Fannon made up the rest of the team.
Marjon also took bronze in the 4x50m freestyle relay final, once again behind Stirling and Loughborough.
Maurer and Fannon both reached individual finals, as did Plymouth University’s Adam Chillingworth, Juliette Casini, Perry Gardner, Freddy Clampet and Matthew Zammit.
