PLYMOUTH Argaum were thrilled with the turnout for their ‘Return to Rugby’ and mini training sessions held at the University of St Mark and St John on Sunday.

The Cornwall/Devon League club had 12 new faces turn up to try their opening RFU-backed ‘Return to Rugby’ session.

That was the first of 10 weekly training mornings aimed at encouraging anyone over the age of 18 to give rugby a go or to get back into the sport.

At the same time, Argaum’s mini section were back in full swing for the new season. The club had a bumper turnout of youngsters age from three to eight-year-olds.

Club secretary and spokesman Stuart Quarterman said: “We had a dozen turn up for the first ‘Return to Argaumkids3Rugby’ session which was great. We are going to keep pushing it and, hopefully, we will get even more people for the remaining nine sessions.

“We also almost doubled the number of our juniors.”

Argaum offer Sunday morning training at Marjons for under-nine, under-eight, under-seven, under-six and fun sessions for under-fives.
