PLYMOUTH Devils are not planning to extend any favours to West Country rivals Somerset when they meet up in the League Cup this weekend.
The Devils travel to Somerset’s Oaktree Arena on Friday evening with the return match at the St Boniface Arena on Saturday evening (7.15pm).
Rye House currently top the Southern Group table with 10 points and have completed their fixtures while Somerset are on four points with the two matches against Plymouth remaining.
The Devils failed to take any points from their two matches against Rye House and team manager Lee Trigger says: “Although we cannot make any further progress ourselves, it is in our hands to put Somerset out of the competition.
“Bearing in mind the local rivalry, we will be looking to put one over on the Rebels and claim the local bragging rights.
Plymouth expect to have skipper Kyle Newman fit to return to their side after injury and will again have Ben Barker guesting at number one in place of Charlie Gjedde.
In the home match on Saturday they will operate the rider replacement facility for Jack Holder, who is competing in the World under-21 qualifier at Belle Vue that evening.
Plymouth (home to Somerset ): Ben Barker, rider replacement for Jack Holder, Kyle Newman, Todd Kurtz, Sam Simota. Reserves: Stefan Nielsen, Ellis Perks.
