PLYMOUTH Harriers dominated the opening race in the Armada 5k Summer Series at Saltram Park on Wednesday night.

The city club, who have recently relocated to Lipson, had four of the top five runners home and also filled the top two women spots.

Chris Aldridge won in a time of 17.11 minutes, with Torbay’s Peter Monaghan second in 17.21.

Plymouth’s Tom Humphrey was third in 17.32, just ahead of his team-mate John Cooper, who clocked 17.35. Fifth was fellow Harrier Alex Peyton-Jones in 17.57

Ami Yetton was first women home in the run around the National Trust property at Saltram.

She came home in a time of 19.14, with team-mate Jane Allison second women in 20.37.

Some 155 runners finished the opening race. The second event in the series will take place on Wednesday, May 11.
