Runners have a choice of events to take part in this weekend

THE popular Mad March Hare 10k takes place in Plympton on Sunday morning (9am).

The event starts and finishes at the Plymouth Devils’ speedway track at Marsh Mills and takes runners through Saltram.

James Denne won last year’s race, with South Devon’s Naomi Flanagan triumphing in the women’s race.

More than 200 athletes took part in 2015 and organisers will be hoping to exceed that number this time around.

Also on Sunday, the final round of the Frank Elford Sports Westward Cross Country League takes place at Redruth.

The first race off in Cornwall will be the under-11s at 12.15pm, with the final race – the under-15 girls and boys – at 2.25pm. More information HERE.

There will also be two Sports Relief Miles taking place in the region on Sunday – one at Central Park and the other at Saltash – while on Saturday morning there is the monthly 5kool Run at Tavistock, which is a timed 5k run. Details of that can be found HERE
