Dacres hopes Albion can build some momentum before Christmas

Nile Dacres try Jersey

NILE DACRES says Plymouth Albion want to try and ‘get a bit of momentum going’ into Christmas.

Albion have three matches to play before the festival period, which will mark the halfway point of the season – away at Wharfedale, at home to Loughborough Students and away at Hartpury College.

They will make the 700-mile round trip to Wharfedale this weekend on the back of a morale-boosting victory over Amphill, which came following back-to-back defeats against Blackheath and Darlington Mowden Park.

“We hadn’t quite been there the previous two weeks but it was nice to get back on the track and get the win on Saturday,” said Dacres.

“A win is a win, so we’re happy with that. We can always build, but as long as we are going in the right direction, I think everyone will be happy.

“We had a good little run a few weeks ago (beating Henley, Cinderford and Blaydon), so hopefully we can get a bit of momentum going into Christmas. We just want to keep the ball rolling.

“We’d had a couple of little setbacks the previous two weeks, but if we can build on Saturday and take that into Christmas that would be good.”
