REIGNING champion Ruta Meilutyte had no problems easing through the 100m breaststroke heats at the World Championships in Kazan.
The 18-year-old Plymouth Leander swimmer, who is Olympic champion and world record holder at the event, won her heat in a time of 1:06:81.
That ranked her fourth overall going into Monday evening’s semi-finals, with Russian Yuliya Efimova, China’s Jinslin Shi and American Jessica Hardy, who all swam in the same stacked heat, just ahead of her.
Meilutyte’s world and championship record in 1:04.35.
