City hurdler David King set to compete at European Festival in Poland

KingPLYMOUTH sprint hurdler David King is set to earn more international experience on Sunday in Poland.

King, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday, is due to feature at the 15th European Athletics Festival at the Krzyszkowiak Stadium in Bydgoszcz.

The British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) champion was recently invited to run in Germany and also earned England honours at the Loughborough International Meet, where he set a new personal best of 13.69 seconds.

King is currently ranked as Britain’s top under-23 110m hurdler and second in the UK senior standings behind Lawrence Clarke. He has already achieved the European Under-23 Championship qualifying time.

Meanwhile, Instinctive Sports are hoping for a bumper turnout for Sunday’s Plym Valley Challenge Race.

The event, described as a ‘multi-terrain seven country mile race, starts and finishes at Tor Bridge High School in Estover and takes runners down into the Plym Valley.

The main race starts at 10am, with a fun run beginning at 9.30am.
