PLYMOUTH Raiders have signed New Zealand international BJ Anthony.
The 27-year-old will join Australians Josh Wilcher, Daryl Corletto and Bennie Lewis on Raiders’ roster next season.
The 6ft 7in power forward, who has dual New Zealand and British nationality and so will not take up one of Raiders’ three permit spots, has played with Corletto for New Zealand Breakers in the Australian NBL League.
“I’m really excited about becoming part of Plymouth Raiders,” said Anthony. “I want to get my career on track in Europe and I’m excited to see the country where my mother was born.
“Having never been to England myself, I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my life and career and helping the Raiders’ win.”
Raiders coach Jay Marriott said: “It’s great news that we have been able to secure BJ’s signature for the 2015/16 season.
“He has great potential to lead our front line next season and his experience with winning programmes and his opportunities in the last World Cup has made him an important signing for us.”
