THERE was an impressive turnout of under-eights and under-11s at City of Plymouth Athletic Club’s Evening Open Meet.
The panthers’ age group (under-eights) had 24 athletes competing in four events – 50m, long jump, 400m and vortex, while there was nearly as many under-11s.
International sprinter Katherine Endacott, a Commonwealth Games 100m medallist, coaches City of Plymouth’s panthers.
She tweeted after the event: “An amazing turnout for competition from my panthers and other under-eights. Proud coach.”
Erme Valley Harriers were also well represented at the meet, particularly at under-11 and under-13 level.
The track and field season continues this weekend when Exeter Arena hosts the Devon County Championships on Sunday.
