TONIA COUCH and Sarah Barrow won a synchro bronze medal for Great Britain on the opening day of the World Series event in Kazan.
The Plymouth pair finished with a total of 312.54 points, which put them well ahead of fourth-placed Russians Yulia Timoshinina and Daria Govar, who scored 285.36.
China’s Ruolin Chen and Huixia Liu won the competition with 338.88 points, ahead of Canadians Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion with 316.11.
The bronze medal will be a boost to the city divers ahead of their individual event on Sunday and ahead of this summer’s World Championships at the same venue.
