PLYMOUTH diver Shanice Lobb marked her official call-up to the Team GB squad for this summer’s inaugural European Games by winning platform gold at the Dresden Youth International Meet.

Lobb had topped qualifying in the girls’ Group A category in Germany by more than 50 points and she continued her good form in the final with a score of 455.20.

Germany’s Christina Wassen was second with 417.50, with fellow British diver Ruby Bower third with 415.50.

Hours before the competition started 17-year-old Lobb was named in Team GB’s European Games squad, alongside her cousin and Plymouth team-mate Matthew Dixon.

The pair will be joined in Baku in June by fellow city diver Natasha MacManus, who has been named in Ireland’s team.
