PLYMOUTH divers Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow have been confirmed in Great Britain’s team for the FINA/NVC World Series event in London.
The competition will take place at the Olympic pool over the weekend of May 1-3.
However, before that the pair will compete in the Russian leg in Kasan the week before.
Yet the prospect of diving in front of a home crowd at the London Aquatic Centre excites Couch.
She was one of three British medallists at the last World Series event in Dubai.
Couch claimed an individual platform bronze to add to the springboard gold by Jack Laugher and men’s platform silver by fellow Plymothian Tom Daley.
“I can take that (bronze) forward to London and the home crowd can spur me on a bit,” said Couch “I’m sure it will be a great atmosphere and it’s a great pool so it’ll be nice to compete there.
“I think a lot of people are talking about British diving at the moment and you can see why when you see the kind of performances we’ve had at the other legs. It lifts the team as well and hopefully we can all help each other and push each other on.”
Couch and Barrow will compete in the individual and synchro events in London. Daley will also compete in the pool where he now trains.
