Shanice Lobb and Cody Powell-Tuckett win medals at British Elite Junior Championships

dive2PLYMOUTH Diving won two medals on the second day of the British Elite Junior Championships at the Life Centre.

Shanice Lobb claimed silver in the girls’ A platform event behind European junior champion Lois Toulson, who had won the British senior title in February at the same venue.

City of Leeds’ Toulson scored 429.60 points, with Lobb finishing on 405.80. Leeds’ Ruby Blower was third on 364.90.

Lobb’s success, which came on her return from a hand injury, has earned her qualification for this summer’s inaugural European Games in Baku.

There was also a medal in the girls’ B platform final for Cody Powell-Tuckett.

The city youngster came third with 286.00 points behind Leeds’ Emily Bearpark, who won with 309.65, and Southampton’s Emily Martin with 297.15.

dive1In Thursday’s other finals, Sheffield’s Jordan Houlden won the boys’ A one-metre event ahead of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Games competitor James Heatly, while Leeds’ Anthony Harding won the boys’ B final.
