PLAY-OFF chasing Plymouth Argyle have strengthened their ranks with the loan signing of Everton youngster Gethin Jones.

The Australian-born 19-year-old, who can play in a variety of positions, has agreed to join the League Two outfit until the end of the season.

Jones is part of the Wales under-21 squad and is about to link up with them for their match against Bulgaria next Tuesday.

He will not be available for Argyle’s trip to Cheltenham Town on Saturday but will meet up with John Sheridan’s side ahead of their Good Friday home match against Burton on April 3.

Jones has made one substitute appearance for Everton, against FC Krasnodar in the European League in December.
