PLYMOUTH Argyle have suffered a blow ahead of their trip to Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday night with news that Drew Talbot has been recalled from his loan spell at Home Park by his parent club Chesterfield.
The 28-year-old utility player has started nine matches since joining the Pilgrims at the end of January. Argyle have won five and drawn one of the nine games he has played in.
Talbot was expecting to be in John Sheridan’s side for their League Two game against Dagenham but Chesterfield invoked a 24-hour recall clause. Instead, Talbot could feature in Chesterfield’s League One match against Gillingham on Tuesday evening.
Argyle head to Dagenham on the back of a 0-0 draw against in-form Oxford United at the Kassan Stadium. Saturday’s clean sheet was their 18th off the season and keeps them in a promotion play-off spot.
They are seventh but Stevenage and Newport, who they play on Saturday, are right on their tails.
Dagenham sit 18th, nine points ahead of the relegation zone.
