PLYMOUTH Argyle booked their place in the third round of the Women’s FA Cup by beating Welsh side Gwalia United 2-0 at Home Park on Sunday.
The Pilgrims will now play Oxford United away on December 14. The two teams have already played each other twice this month – once in the league and once in the League Cup – with Argyle winning both matches.
Sunday’s victory extended Argyle’s unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions.
Two goals in the first half courtesy of Phoebie Poole were enough to see them into the hat for the draw that was made on Monday night.
Her first came in the 36th minute when she powered a header into the net from a Charlotte Whitmore corner.
And three minutes later she added her second with a successful penalty kick after Whitmore was fouled in the box.
Argyle had further chances to extend their lead, but the two goals were enough to see them home.

But on 36 minutes Flitney was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box and she was sent off and Maidenhead were awarded a penalty, which Katie Akerman fired home.
Both teams battle for a winner in the second half but they could not be separated.
