EDDIE HILLYER ensured Plymouth Harriers had a home winner to their Summer 5 race in Central Park on Saturday evening.
Hillyer took victory in 28 minutes and 54 seconds, ahead of his club colleague James Cartlidge, who had won Plymouth Harriers’ Autumn 5 in October.
The city club switched their annual race to July this year after Plymstock Road Runners were unable to hold their Muddy Duck 10k event.
Third place on Saturday went to Storm Plymouth’s Daniel Westlake, who clocked 30.48minutes, with Plymstock’s Graham Bale fourth and first M60 and Erme Valley Harriers’ Peter Allen fifth.
Tavistock AC’s Elizabeth Gillam was first women home in 41.39 minutes.
Second was Storm’s Catherine Brown (42.53), with her team-mate Deborah Cornish third and first F55 in 44.48.
Becky Kingdon was fourth woman and first F40, with Zoe Young fifth and second F40.
Runners battled hot conditions over two laps of Plymouth’s Central Park.

Meanwhile, Tavistock’s Charlotte Walker was second female overall and first U20 at the Exeter 10k in midweek. She clocked 38.40 minutes for the run.
Her club colleague Hannah Smith was sixth woman, while fellow Tavistock AC athlete Carole Walter was first F60.
Erme Valley Harriers’ Sally Erith was first F40 and Plymouth Harriers’ James Cartlidge was third M35 and Stuart Hall was third M60.
