MORE than 500 runners completed the popular Looe 10 Miler on Sunday morning.
After some tough weather conditions in recent years, athletes were treated to glorious sunshine this time around.
The race was won by Truro’s Steve Reynolds, who had also claimed victory in 2023 and who was runner-up last year. His time of 58.53 minutes was much quicker than the previous two years where the conditions did play their part.
Second home on Sunday was Lloyd Milborne (1:02.55), with Mark Budge third (1:03.02) and Erme Valley Harriers’ Ronnie Hayes was fourth and first M40 in 1:03.20. Tom Wraight was not far behind in sixth and was second M40.
Tamar Trotters’ Luke Attwood was eighth and first M35, while Erme Valley Harriers’ David Engledew was also an age category winner. Engledew was first M65.
Plymouth Musketeers’ Lee Herbert (M45), East Cornwall Harriers’ Oliver Jones (M50) and Tamar Trotters’ Anthony Worthington (M55) were all runners-up in their age groups.
The women’s race was won by Newquay’s Rose Harvie in 1:15.21, while East Cornwall Harriers’ Susie Hooke was second and first F40 in 1:19.59.
East Cornwall’s Revis Crowle was first F60, with her team-mate Jane Lockyer third.
Erme Valley’s Alison Engledew was second F65 and East Cornwall’s Meeta Nicholls was runner-up in the F50 category.
There were third place age group finishes for Plymouth Musketeers Becky Hugh (F35), Tamar Trotters’ Sallie Brennan and Erme Valley’s Helen Chapell.
Plymouth Musketeers, Storm Plymouth, Plymouth Harriers, Erme Valley Harriers and Tamar Trotters were all well represented.
The race took runners from the Millpool Car Park in Looe and followed the coastal road to Talland and around Killigarth and Porthallow before heading back to the start.
