OLLIE THOROGOOD and Charlotte Walker were dominant winners of the popular Ivybridge 10k on Saturday night.
South West Road Runners’ Thorogood took the men’s title by more than a minute, coming home in 33.05 minutes.
Two previous winners of the race, who are now masters athletes, came second and third.
Ceri Rees, the 2015 champion and now a M50 athlete, took second place in 34.16 minutes, while course record holder and 2008 and 2010 winner, Kairn Stone (City of Plymouth, M45), was third in 34.49 minutes.
James Dwyer was fourth (35.14) and Richard Edwards was fifth (35.18), while host club Erme Valley Harriers claimed the men’s team award.
Erme Valley’s Ronnie Haynes just out-sprinted Tom Wraight on the line to win the top M40 prize, while Plymstock Road Runners’ Graham Bale, who recently came second in his age group at the London Marathon, was first M55 in 36.40 minutes, while City of Plymouth’s Simon Anderson was first M60.
Tavistock teenager Walker claimed the women’s title by almost a minute-and-a-half. She stormed to victory in 38.50 minutes, which was a new PB for her.
Second place went to Storm Plymouth’s Lauren Knox, who finished in 40.19 minutes.
City of Plymouth youngster Molly Gilbey took third place (43.15), with Jasmine Bannister fourth (44.22) and Marie Arding fifth (44.55).
Plymouth Harriers’ Michelle Cooper (F35), Jenny James (F40), Plymstock’s Jane Ling (F45), Sara Tapp (F50) and Tamar Trotters’ Jane Bremner (F60), were among the female age category winners.
Plymouth Harriers won the women’s team award in the race that saw 487 finishers.
