MARINE Academy Plymouth have reached the semi-finals of the South West Women’s Premier League Cup after beating Pucklechurch 2-0 away on Sunday.
Captain Samantha Drewery scored in the first half before Carmen Morison sealed the victory for the Plymouth side in the second period.
In the South West Premier Division, Liskeard Athletic were beaten 3-0 away by champions Bristol Rovers in a game played at the Memorial Stadium.
Liskeard battled hard and were only 1-0 down at half-time, but Rovers guaranteed the victory in the second period.
In the South West Divisional League Cup, Saltash United progressed thanks to a 3-1 home success over Olveston United at Callington.
Olivia Ramsey gave the Ashes the lead before two goals from Nicola Champion either side of half-time sealed the win.
In the Devon Women’s League South & West Division, Horrabridge Rangers moved back to the top of the table after beating Signal Box 2-1 in a good contest at Fillace Park.
Heidi Davies gave Horrabridge the lead in the first half with a long-range effort.
She then doubled their advantage in the second period before Catrin Rickard pulled one back for Signal Box.
The win saw Horrabridge move one point ahead of SB Oak Villa, but the Weston Mill club, who are unbeaten in the league, do have two games in hand on their title rivals.
In the same division, Hunters District were beaten 7-1 at home by third-placed Plainmoor. Chloe Thompson scored Hunters’ only goal.
In Cornwall Division Two, Callington Town were beaten 2-1 at home by Ludgvan.
