Plymouth Stars shine brightly at second round of Ivybridge Inbox Hockey League

PLYMOUTH Stars moved to the top of the Ivybridge Inbox Hockey League after they claimed three wins out of three in the second round of the competition on Sunday.

They beat Plymouth Eclipse 6-5, Kernow Thunder 12-0 and Kernow Lightning 7-3.

Stars had won two out of three matches in the first round at the start of the month.

Kernow Lightning, who had triumphed in all their games in the first round, are level on points with Stars, but have a lower goal difference.

Lightning beat their Cornish colleagues Kernow Thunder 6-4 and Plymouth Eclipse before losing to Stars.

Eclipse and Thunder both lost twice on Sunday at Ivybridge Leisure Cntre before drawing 7-7.

Inbox hockey is a variation of inline hockey that features a less formal structure than the traditional sport.

It is played within a smaller space to a ‘normal’ inline/ice hockey game and can be set up inside half a tradition sportshall with four equal straight sides.
