SIGNAL Box Oak Villa’s senior men’s team capped off a tremendous season on Saturday by winning the P&WD Supplementary Cup by beating Hooe Rovers 1-0 in a competitive final played in hot conditions at Western Mill.
The victory meant Oak Villa completed a trophy treble, having already won the P&WD Premier Division league title and Premier Cup.
After a goalless first half, where both goalkeepers made good saves, Oak Villa got the breakthrough they were looking for when Ray Spear fired home from 15-yards in the 59th minute.
They had chances to increase their lead after that but could not take them and right at the death Hooe Rovers nearly grabbed an equaliser.
Saturday’s cup final, played in front of a decent-sized crowd, was supporting mental health awareness.
