PLYMOUTH Phoenix enjoyed victory in the 3v3 Ice Hockey Summer Cup held at the Pavilions on Saturday evening.
It was the second time the British Regional Ice-Inline Hockey Association (BRIHA) had held a 3v3 event at the city event following one earlier this year.
The latest tournament proved even better than the first, with even more fast-placed games and goals.
The BRIHA hope that they could make the 3v3 format part of ice hockey’s future in Plymouth while the city has the small, kidney-shaped ice rink at the Pavilions.
Vadims Mahnovs, who is on the BRIHA management committee, said: “We want to get this thing off the ground and make sure it’s entertaining.
“All of us would be grateful for the opportunity to grow with this to the point where it does go bigger, better, wherever the growth takes it.”
Phoenix finished top of the standings with 15 points, with Plymouth Eclipse second on 12 points and the Royal Maries Bootnecks taking third with seven points.
Plymouth Misfits, Plymouth Phoenex 2 and Royal Navy Kings also competed at the event.
